Arcade rooflights are used on flat roofs of industrial, agricultural buildings, warehouses, production facilities, civil and administrative buildings. The bearing structure of arcade rooflights is made of high-quality extruded aluminium profiles. The glazing material of the dome is honeycomb polycarbonate.The light lines are supplied in arched or saddled designs with a slope of 30° or 45°.
ESSMANN arcade rooflights can be of two types: classical arcade rooflights (940/10 type) and ESSMANN arcade rooflights without thermal bridges (type “i” and “ih”).
ESSMANN arcade rooflight of 940/10 type вis arched (vaulted), with a pitch of 1/5 to 1/9 of the span width. The arcade rooflight can be manufactured in any width from 1,00 m to 6,00 m and in any length. The supporting structure is made of extruded aluminium profiles that are arranged in accordance with the grid size of 1060, 703 or 503 mm. The guiding and the clamping profiles are also made of aluminium, whilst external small parts such as screws, hinges, etc. are made of stainless steel (V2A). The flaps consist of an aluminium frame with welded corners, into which a polycarbonate panel, which has the same thickness as the rest of the arcade rooflight, is inserted. This flap structure can be used purely to provide ventilation or to extract smoke and heat, or to do both at the same time. The arcade rooflight flaps can be opened for daily aeration and ventilation by using optional ventilation motors (standard lift of 300 mm).The maximum flap width is 2.5 m, length – 1 or 2 m. Depending on the span width of the arcade roofllight the full, side and ridge flaps are differentiated. Single flaps can be substituted with double ones. Depending on the width of the arcade rooflight double flaps are mounted across the entire width or in the ridge of the rooflight. When activated the SHE system opens the flaps to 90°.
ESSMANN arcade rooflights (of “i” and “ih” types) supplement and surpass arcade rooflights of 940/10 series due to improved energy saving characteristics and optimized construction of the bearing profiles (“i” - thermally insulated and “ih”- high insulation), which fully protect against thermal bridges. Arcade rooflights are manufactured of honeycomb polycarbonate, the thickness and the type of which are chosen according to the project requirements to energy efficiency and loads (16, 20, 26 or 32 mm, filled with nanogel (AeroTech®). They are designed with dome pitches of 1/5 to 1/9 of the span width and are supplied in any width ranging between 1,00 - 6,00 m and in any length. Depending on the projected loads and structural stability requirements the bearing profiles can be placed 530, 703 or 1060 mm apart. Arcade rooflights with the frame and adapter for arcade rooflights of «i» and «ih» types can be installed on any substructure both in new buildings as well as in those built earlier. The guiding profile of ESSMANN arcade rooflights of «i» and «ih» types is manufactured of PVC, which provides both thermal separation and optimum loads distribution and structure rigidity (in combination with compensation blocks). This not only considerably decreases the risk of condensation forming, but also makes it possible to endure high loads, snow and wind loads, for example. The guiding profiles of «ih» type (unlike in «i» type) are thermally insulated. ESSMANN arcade rooflights of «i» and «ih» types can be equipped with flaps for ventilation or for heat and smoke extraction. Thus, they are ideal both for everyday ventilation and for heat and smoke extraction. There are various types and sizes of arcade rooflight flaps available, which can be equipped with pneumatic and electric drives.
ESSMANN saddle arcade rooflights of 940/20 (slope 30º) and 940/21 (slope 45º) types are designed with a slope of 30º or 45º and are manufactured in any width between 1-5 m, as required, and in any length. The bearing structure is made of extruded aluminium profiles that are arranged in accordance with the grid size of 1060, 703 or 503 mm. The guiding and the clamping profiles are also made of aluminium, whilst external small parts such as screws, hinges, etc. are made of high quality stainless steel (V2A). The flaps of arcade rooflights of 940/20 and 940/21 types consist of an aluminium kerb frame with honey polycarbonate glazing, which has the same thickness as the rest of the arcade rooflight. The maximum flap width is 3 m, length – 1 or 2 m. This flap structure can be used purely to provide ventilation or to extract smoke and heat, or to do both at the same time (due to the use of electric drives 230V (24V). With the opener lifting to 300, 500, 750 mm the flaps of arcade rooflight can be opened for aeration and due to the use of heat and smoke extraction devices flaps of arcade rooflights can be used for smoke ventilation. When activated the SHE system opens the flaps to 90°.
Essmann pyramid-shaped arcade rooflights type 980 are a decorative and eye-catching design. Pyramid-shaped arcade rooflights are often used as design features in exhibition halls, shopping arcades, foyers, stairwells, office and industrial buildings. Standard ESSMANN pyramid-shaped arcade rooflights are manufactured with a slope of 30° or 45° (other slopes are available on request) and can range in span width from 1.5 m to 5 m. Polygonal pyramids (from 6 to 16-sided) can be custom-made to client specifications in addition to the standard 4-sided pyramids. The profile system can be coated in any RAL color. Up to a span width of 2 m the pyramid system is fully pre-assembled at the factory and is installed in the same way as the skylight dome system. If the pyramid-shaped arcade rooflight is also to be used for ventilation, one side of the entire pyramid structure (up to a span width of 2 m) is lifted up using a tandem system. With span widths longer than 2m ventilation flaps in pyramid systems are installed like in saddle rooflights. The ESSMANN pyramid-shaped arcade rooflight system can be mounted both on upstands provided by the customer and on ESSMANN's base system.
Frames for ESSMANN arcade rooflights are manufactured of galvanized metal sheet with the thickness of 2 or 3 mm (depending on technical requirements) and have the following structure: separate elements of the frame are connected between each other with the help of butt connectors and angle pieces. The brackets included in the scope of supply are used to mount the assembled base on the relevant support. Spacing bars for single frames ensure compliance with static requirements and serve as a mounting aid. The frames can be easily mounted at site.
