Inverted roof

Flat roof is one of the most common roof arrangement types of industrial and commercial buildings. The reason for such popularity is a number of advantages offered by flat roofs:

  • A possibility to have more space on the roof for trade areas, cafes, sports grounds, parking lots, etc
  • A possibility to use a roof for ventilation equipment, elevator equipment rooms, solar modules installation; installation
  • Easy and convenient mounting
  • Affordable price
  • Reliability and durability due to waterproofing materials of the new generation – PVC and TPO membranes.

An inverted system is one of the variants of a ballast roofing system arrangement with the only difference that a thermal insulation layer is located not under the waterproofing covering, but above it. The advantage of this system is membrane protection from the sun and temperature variations, which considerably increases the roof service life. Another peculiarity of an inverted roof is absence of a vapour barrier (it's function is performed by the roofing membrane itself). The insulation should be water-resistant. The inverted system perfectly suits both exploitable (for parking lot or sports ground on the roof) and green roofs.
